Recipes

For the past three years, healthy eating has become very important to me. Never so much as in the past two years, since I lost thirty-five pounds, and got the Gardasil vaccine and got very, very sick after it. I have had to pay a lot of attention to what goes into my body, and to try cutting out various things that might cause inflammation and cause my body to fail to heal as it needs to. So, first I tried gluten-free and sugar free. Then I moved straight into GAPS, which I found is very much like paleo. The nice thing for gluten-free individuals is the recipes found in both GAPS and paleo will benefit you since neither consumes grains. I believe people who eat paleo can eat anything in the GAPS section as well.

Since I am doing only GAPS at the moment and in the fifth month starting May, I will only be posting GAPS recipes until that changes. Once I start being able to add things back in, I will start to post recipes in the other sections as foods become available for me again. Still, because people eating gluten-free and paleo can eat whatever a person on GAPS can, you may find you really enjoy some of these recipes yourself if you are paleo or gluten-free as well!

I am not a vegan or vegetarian. Yet I do respect those who choose to be; but if you are and are offended by those that eat animal products, please refrain from commenting in a negative way or trying to ‘convert’ anyone to veganism or becoming a vegetarian. We are all individuals who make our own choices. I do what I feel is best for me and my body, while remaining conscientious about what I consume and buy.  This I do by trying to only buy grain fed, organic meat and animal products. I’m doing what I can, in my way, just as others do what they feel is right in theirs. That said, I will post recipes that I have tried and enjoy, or ones I plan to try. I hope that this helps others on these diets–or those just trying to eat healthier–to find things they, too, can enjoy!
