Shingeki no Kyojin – Attack on Titan
From the start to the end, this anime had me hooked. Definitely not an anime for younger audiences, there is a lot of blood, gore and violence. Yet it certainly fits well with the darker nature of this anime. The characters were diverse and interesting, and I’m a fan of Mikasa Ackerman, her adopted brother Eren, and Levi. Potato girl added just the right amount of random humor into the series, and I am really looking forward to the second season! The idea of humanity being eaten by these horrifying, massive, powerful and hard-to-kill creatures is actually pretty legitimately frightening. The helplessness that was felt watching as people died and nothing could be done was all too real. I kept being constantly surprised by the turn of events, and as things were revealed along the way.
There is a lot of emotion in this anime for sure, and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat! Many people die, and not in pleasant ways. Yet there is a lot of focus on hope and not giving up that I can really appreciate. To keep on fighting for humanity, for life, even when the odds are definitely against you. The sacrifices made by so many of the characters was shocking but also very emotional. It really made me think and feel. I would definitely re-watch and was given the first manga in the series as a gift!
I will try hard when reviewing anime to not give any spoilers for those that have not seen it. I can definitely say it’s worth watching. I even went to Hot Topic and bought a couple of Attack on Titan items! Namely a belt, shirt, and pajama pants. I want to go back for a couple more AoT items in the near future. There was a couple things I like, but it gets pricey and adds up fast when you add it to the other things I got! c;
Please feel free to comment in the comments section, and put a ‘SPOILERS!’ warning at the top of your comment if you will be giving any! For me, if I’m in the middle of watching something, or haven’t seen it, I’d really appreciate it if you post no spoilers at all. If I state I’m finished though, just put said tag out of respect for others. Also feel free to mention any similar anime you think I’d enjoy. You can watch AoT on Netflix, might I add!
Yours truly,
Tales of Souls
