Dear readers,
I delayed on starting a blog for quite some time due to feeling I had to have a singular focus to be writing about. Yet I’ve never been anything but completely diverse in my interests, and couldn’t decide quite what I wanted to do. Then a good friend of mine said something that hit home: write about whatever you want to write about. Don’t write for other people. Write for yourself. So, about a year later, here I am!
A little about myself:
I’m actually thirty-one years of age, but no one guesses that since I will be the first to admit I act much younger, and seem much younger. Yet at the same time, I’ve certainly had a very crazy, rocky and wild ride of life thus far. I have experienced things no one would guess at unless I told them. I have my skeletons in the closet, as I’m sure many of you do. I did manage, I think, to mostly stay true to myself. People tell me I’m strong, and they admire my determination and how I tend to hold on to hope and never give up. I just call it stubborn, yet I admit I have problems taking a compliment well. I’m working on it!
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My pets include a blue point Siamese cat who is eight; her birthday is in May. My dog is a six year old black Labrador x German Shepherd named Roo, her birthday is in March. I also have a royal ball python who is seven named Saix, and a Hogg Isle Boa x Red Tail Boa named Grimm, he’s about three. Then there is Bun-bun, my Netherland dwarf x Lionhead, who looks blue point Siamese herself, she is three as well. Gottfried is my beta fish, he’s also three this October. Pets aren’t pets to me. They’re like family. I’ve been through a lot with them, especially Roo and Saphira. They are all adoptions save Grimm and Gottfried.
I have a ton of health problems since receiving the Gardasil vaccine. Through it I have met dozens of girls and women who were likewise affected by it. I moved to Toronto to be closer to my new doctor and my homeopath. Due to this vaccine injury, I am on disability. I’m not proud of it, and I am fighting to gain my health back so I can get a job again and possibly resume my courses to go to college to be a Vet Tech. Homeopathy has helped me more than anything, and while it’s a slow road to recovery, I am making progress. Now back to the site!
Tales of Souls will have something for everyone. I don’t think there’s much I’m not interested in, even if I do have my own personal tastes on things like music, movies, shows, books, games and so on and so forth, just like anyone else. Yet I tend to find there isn’t anything I can’t talk about, and my interests are certainly not focused on any one thing. Like everyone, I’m constantly growing as a person. I’m not perfect. I’m far, far, from it. Who is, though? Lately my interests have shifted towards fitness, health, and nutrition. Even more so after I became ill and really had to start paying attention to what I eat, and what I put into my body. So thanks to this, I’ve got a section for more specific kinds of diets. I know there will be followers who, like myself, were vaccine injured and that this might help them have an easier time of finding healthy and acceptable options for themselves. Currently I’m doing the GAPS diet myself, for those who are wondering!
I expect that not everyone is going to agree with my opinions. I won’t agree with all of yours. Yet I respect everyone’s opinions. If you are going to comment, please keep in mind that we are all human beings with our own thoughts, feelings and opinions. We all make the choices we feel are best for ourselves, or our children. I won’t judge you, but please keep in mind I would hope you’d return the same courtesy. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind in the comments! State your opinions, but be polite in doing so. No insults or arguments are wanted here. This is a place for people to feel good about coming to read the posts. No one forces you to do so. You’re free to skip over any that you don’t feel you want to read, or strongly disagree with to the point that what you comment could start an argument or cause people to feel badly.
The interests pages were added so that those who DO share my interests can see what I’m up to at the time. They will feature whatever show, game, book, movie and so on and so forth I happen to be engaged with at the time. I love sharing interests and hobbies with others. It brings people together in an wonderful way! I’ll also be learning digital art, and will be putting up anything I happen to do that doesn’t make me cringe. Usually this is everything I do; I’m my own worst critic. Yet this blog is as much for me, as for you. More so, really. I’d like to get out of my shell, become more comfortable in my own skin, learn more about myself, and raise my confidence. I want to share with you, and in the comments feel free to share with me! Speaking of sharing, this brings me to the next page: advice.
I have spent my life giving advice to friends and family alike, usually only when I feel it is being asked for, but if I’m being honest sometimes when I just feel I ought to give it. There are so many out there that need advice, or want it, and need someone to talk to about their problems or issues. So, I’m going to be creating an anonymous submissions place, so that others and myself won’t see who you are, and you can ask for advice or get out what you need to. There is zero tolerance here for judging of any kind. Unless you are perfect–and no one is–you haven’t the right to judge anyone else. You don’t walk in their shoes. You aren’t experiencing their feelings, or what they are going through. Rude comments will be deleted, or you will be banned from the blog if it becomes habitual.
The last section is links. There will be links posted to anything I think pertains to me and my life, and a few to other people’s blogs whom I am following–probably friends and family. Feel free to have a look at them, I’m in writing groups and I’m on Deviantart, and will begin posting art there. I’ll also link to my Facebook and Twitter as well. This covers just about everything I think you might want to know about this blog. There will be topics of every kind discussed here, many about myself and my life. I hope you enjoy, as I know I will.
Yours truly,
Tales of Souls
